One of the places we love most about our wonderful Lake Como is undoubtedly the small and picturesque village of Nesso. A village with an ancient flavor, a small gem nestled in the rock and located along the road that connects Como to Bellagio. We are on the western shore of the Larian triangle, that strip of land situated between the two branches of Lake Como. Nesso stands at the point where the two streams Tuf and Nosée merge, forming a scenic waterfall that flows within the enchanting Orrido of Nesso.
The name of the village is thought to derive from a Celtic word meaning mooring, or it is believed to be linked to the Celtic water deity called Ness. Nesso is easily reachable in a day from Milan (just over an hour), from Como (half an hour), Lecco (50 minutes), and Varese (1 hour).
